Complementary Medicine
Complementary Medicine is receiving more and more media coverage and is increasingly being seen as part of mainstream healthcare.
Our courses at TVU were developed in line with the House of Lords report and its recommendations to the government for training and education in this area.
We provide a range of courses:
- foundation degrees
- undergraduate degrees
- supported distance learning courses
- postgraduate study (all have a strong science underpin).
Some of the subjects on offer include:
- aromatherapy
- reflexology
- nutritional medicine
- homeopathy
- autogenic training
- shiatsu massage.
Our courses provide the opportunity for our students to embark on a career within healthcare and equips them to develop their own clinical practice.
Our staff are research active and committed to building the evidence base for complementary medicine.
Our current research courses cover the areas of:
- cancer
- children
- stress
- primary care
- HIV.
