Health and Safety

The Wolfson Clinical Skills Centre is essentially a practical area where clinical skills can be practised. These skills can involve hazards and the use of expensive equipment, for this reason all users of the Wolfson Clinical Skills Centre must follow these guidelines.

Ensure that you know the location of nearest FIRE exits, extinguishers and alarms.

All ACCIDENTS/INCIDENTS must be reported to a member of staff. (A list of first aid personnel is available in the Wolfson Clinical Skills Centre).

To comply with HEALTH AND SAFETY legislation students should be aware of relevant safety information for the equipment and type of work being undertaken.

A risk assessment has to be carried out for all practical work, current risk assessments can be read on the Health and Safety notice board. A health and safety risk form must be completed and signed by students and lecturer before some of the practical sessions.
