A Guide to Wolfson Clinical Skills Centre HANDWASHING, MOVING & HANDLING and RESUSCITATION are summative assessments, which take place within the labs. Failure to complete these will result in referral and possible delays in progression into your branch program or discontinuation of your course. Each taught session is compulsory, and a
record of your attendance to these will be monitored closely. You will not
be assessed if you have not attended the taught session. If you do not
attend your assessment and you are unable to give proof of a viable reason
for this absence, you will receive a referral. If you miss a time tabled session for your assessment topic, it is your responsibility to make arrangements to join with another group. If you are referred on your first assessment, you must attend a ‘catch-up’ session before attempting a second assessment . If you fail the second attempt, a third attempt is not automatic, it will only be granted following an interview with your intake leader and Personal Tutor. This is followed with written evidence, which you will need to present to the lab administrator. We strongly advise you to practice for assessments. HANDWASHING and RESUSCITATION practice does not require supervision, check with the Wolfson Clinical Skills Centre administrator when the resources are available. All MOVING & HANDLING practice is very
limited, sessions need to be booked in advance as they must be supervised
by a relevant member of staff please check with the Wolfson Clinical
Skills Centre administrator when the resources are available. |
