May 2005 Welcome to our redesigned website which has been undertaken for us, absolutely free of charge by web designer David Sean Hill of Storm Design.  I am delighted that it was launched in the bicentennial of the year of Mary Seacole's birth and am very grateful to David for doing all  this magnificent work in his spare time. 

February 2006: This site has been chosen to be archived by the British Library as part of the Women's Collection - more news soon.

The Royal College of Nursing  launched their new publication 'A short history of Mary Seacole: a resource for nurses and students'   written by Professor Elizabeth Anionwu.  The event was held on 26th July 2005 at the National Portrait Gallery in London and included speeches by the RCN President  Sylvia Denton, OBE; General Secretary Dr Beverly Malone, RN PhD FAAN; Lord Soley of Hammersmith (Chairman of the Mary Seacole Memorial Statue Apppeal [] ) and the author Elizabeth Anionwu.
