The Royal College of Nursing launched their new publication 'A short history of Mary Seacole: a resource for nurses and students'  written by Professor Elizabeth Anionwu. The event was held on 26th July 2005 at the National Portrait Gallery in London and included speeches by the RCN President Sylvia Denton, OBE; General Secretary Dr Beverly Malone, RN PhD FAAN; Lord Soley of Hammersmith (Chairman of the Mary Seacole Memorial Statue Apppeal [www.maryseacoleappeal.org.uk/] ) and the author Elizabeth Anionwu.
