About

The Faculty of Health and Human Sciences at TVU is the major provider of nursing and midwifery courses for the NHS from Paddington in London to the far west of Berkshire.

We were formerly called the Wolfson School of Health Sciences. The School brought together a number of schools and colleges of nursing and midwifery.

In 1995, the School merged with Berkshire College to become the Wolfson Institute.

The coming together of these schools and colleges of nursing and midwifery meant that TVU became one of the largest providers of nursing and midwifery courses in this country.

During 2000/1 the psychology subject group transferred into the Faculty, which then became the Faculty of Health and Human Sciences.

By incorporating the additional subject areas of human sciences and complementary therapies, we now offer one of the most exciting course portfolios to be found anywhere in the higher education sector.

We have over 8000 registered students and are outstandingly successful in delivering high quality courses of education and vocational training for the NHS.

We recently had the largest of its NHS contracts renewed for ten years, a clear demonstration of external client confidence in the quality of the Faculty’s provision.
